Vanna White says that comparing Pat Sajak and Ryan Seacrest is like "comparing apples to oranges."
The Wheel of Fortune cohost also shares how she spends her days when she's not filming the game show.
White also discusses the homemade gifts that she's given Seacrest and Sajak.
How similar are Pat Sajak and Ryan Seacrest?
Vanna White shares her thoughts on how her two Wheel of Fortune cohosts compare with one another. During a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the TV personality weighs the similarities of working with Sajak, who hosted the game show from 1981 to 2024, and with Seacrest, who took over upon Sajak's retirement two years ago.
"I would say it's comparing apples to oranges," White says. "They're both great. Everybody has their own style, and people watching the show can see their personality."

She adds, "You've watched Pat for years and you see how he is, and you watch Ryan and you see how he is. They're both incredible to work with and easy to work with. And I, of course, have enjoyed working with both of them!"
White, who is an avid crocheter, says that both Sajak and Seacrest have received the same homemade gift from her. "I make blankets and give them away to all my friends," she says. I made Ryan one, I made Pat one, and I made them for all my friends that have had babies."

The hobby extends back to White's youth. "My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl, and then I put it away," she explains. "As a teenager, I don't want to crochet. And I picked it up, goodness, probably 30 years ago. And it's just a great hobby for me. It's very therapeutic. And my blankets are homemade gifts that you can't buy."
Since Wheel only produces episodes a few days per month, White has maintained a healthy work-life balance. "Fortunately, our schedule has been that way for the 40-plus years I've done the show," she says. "So with my kids growing up, it was always great. I could take them to school. I could make cookies after school or help them with their homework."

Now, Wheel's production schedule gives her time for other pursuits. "Today, obviously my kids are grown," she says. "And my biggest thing now is playing golf. That's my little hobby. I love to play golf when I'm not filming."

White hopes the show's enduring popularity will persist long into the future. "We do whatever we can to make it better," she says. "We're always looking to keep it fresh. I have worn over 8,000 dresses on the show, so every single day you're going to see me in a new dress, you're going to see new puzzles, you're going to see new jokes and new contestants and new winners. So I think we keep it pretty fresh. People still watch and enjoy the show, and I hope they will continue to."
