In the new A24 psychological drama film Mother Mary, writer and actor Michaela Coel plays a highly-respected costume designer, who rekindles a friendship with a world-famous pop star (played by Anne Hathaway). Of course, with a role that centers around style, and its construction, it makes sense that Coel would choose to embrace high-fashion throughout the press tour.

Case in point: As she arrived to a screening of her film in London this afternoon, ahead of its wide release on April 24, our March 2026 cover star wore a wowing bouclé top and skin-hugging slacks, pulled straight from the Loewe Fall/Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection, designed by creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

Styled by Nell Kalonji, Coel hit the red carpet in a strapless top composed of looping loom threads in a mixed gray-and-white fabric, which hung from the neckline like a waterfall of fringe. Along the chest, two secret side pockets left a place for the Emmy-winning star to stick her hands, which she did as she posed on the red carpet.

Down low, the stringy top swayed over a pair of obsidian leggings, which were tucked into matching black heels. Finally, Coel went sans jewelry, pulling her hair into a tight bun, while sporting rosy blush and thick eyeliner.

She posed alongside her costar Hathaway on the red carpet, who for her part wore an artful, bony gown from the Iris van Herpen Spring/Summer 2020 couture collection.

On screen, and on the carpet, these two stylish stars are obviously well-matched.
