Macaulay Culkin's cameo in *Running Point** *might sting.

The *Home Alone** *actor made another cameo in fiancée Brenda Song's Netflix show *Running Point* after showing up in a season one episode. This time around, Culkin's cameo is a little more sneaky. He previously appeared as a disgruntled fan at a Los Angeles Waves basketball game.

Culkin appears in a flashback which reveals that Ally (Song) and Isla (Kate Hudson) were once college roommates who didn't get a long. However, they eventually bond over the heartbreaking coming-of-age movie *My Girl*, which stars Culkin as Thomas J. *Spoiler 35 years later*: His character dies at the end of the film after he is stung by bees, which he is allergic to.

The movie's most memorable scene is a tear-jerker, where Anna Chlumsky as Vada sobs uncontrollably over Thomas J.'s body in an open casket, about him not being able to see without his glasses. Ally and Isla curl up in bed together, crumpling tissues and sniffling over the tragic moment.

Song told *Variety** *that the show's writers were responsible for the meta cameo, but getting Culkin to approve almost became an issue. “He just signed off on it two days ago," she said in an April 16 article. "I'm like, 'Babe, the show's premiering next week. Sign off on it.'" Luckily, he did.

"He pitches himself every season. I love him, but I'm like, 'Honey, this is my job. Let me live,'" Song quipped, naming other actors who have appeared on the show. "We have Ray Romano. We have Octavia Spencer. And not that he's chopped liver, but…"

As for the season 1 cameo, Song told * *that he pitched himself that time around as well. "It was meant to just be him in the back of a scene as an Easter egg for us. He was on set and joking about how he wanted to be thrown into the audience — not say anything, just be in the background, and we just never address it. And then, of course, it slowly snowballed."

"Knowing Mac," Song added, "he could never just be in the background. It was really fun." Culkin had one line as the dissatisfied sports fan expecting to see Billie Eilish perform. "Where's Billie Eilish?!" he asks from the stands when it seems like the "Bad Guy" singer wasn't showing up.
