Justin Theroux is loving his new role as a dad
During his appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he opened up to guest host Willie Geist about his "new dad glow," sharing how he's changed since becoming a dad

Justin Theroux is loving his new role as a dad.
The Running Point star, 54, joined The Kelly Clarkson Show and chatted with guest host Willie Geist, 50, about his "new dad glow," sharing how he's changed since becoming a dad to his son. Theroux welcomed his baby boy with wife Nicole Brydon Bloom, sharing the exciting news with the world on Saturday, April 18.
"It's difficult to encapsulate, obviously, in any amount of time, but I feel fantastic. It's really beautiful," he said. "Someone was smart enough to ... remind me to remind myself when he was born to put myself in my body and recognize that moment when he came out. And you do feel like your DNA just starts flipping in a different way. The minute you lay eyes on him. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing."
Geist, 50, then asked what type of dad Theroux pictures himself being, to which he responded he already wants to "spoil him rotten."
"I'm going to be terrible in that I'm already wanting to spoil [him], like I want nothing more than him to sleep next to me," he said. "I'm sure everyone who has kids has had that feeling where all I want to do is just — if he's feeling upset, pull him into bed."
"My wife is wanting to do sleep training, [and] we have a whole bunch of things, but I think I'm going to want to spoil him rotten," he continued. "That'll be the hardest thing to resist."
Earlier this month, Bloom, 32, and Theroux announced their baby news alongside a black-and-white photo of the new dad hugging his son to his chest as the newborn slept.

Two days after announcing the birth of their first child together, whose name has not been revealed, the couple attended the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York. For the red-carpet outing, Theroux wore a navy-blue, button-up suit with a white collared shirt. Bloom, meanwhile, looked ethereal in a black halter-neck gown with gold hardware details by Moschino, paired with black strappy heels.
On Thursday, April 23, Theroux visited Today with his beloved dog, Kuma, noting that she is no longer an only “child” now after welcoming his first baby.
“It's so hard to sum that up, but I just love looking into his eyeballs,” Theroux raved of his newborn son. “It's just beautiful, it's just a wonderful thing. We're in that period now where it's just, of course, quiet, a lot of tiptoeing around the house, beautiful, occasional crying. Yeah, it's wonderful.”
On the 3rd Hour of Today, Theroux said that Bloom is currently “doing the Herculean task of feeding” their son.
“It's so much better [than I imagined],” Theroux shared of fatherhood. “And, of course, I've been told by other fathers, ‘Wait ‘til you see this child. You're gonna fall in love.' And you still always have that little moment of, ‘Is that really going to happen?' and the minute he appears, your whole life just starts to revolve around this thing, and your heart just opens up in a beautiful way. So I'm really happy, really happy.”
